With the support of Department of Basic Education, thousands of school children and teachers joined the initiative which aimed at strengthening the children’s vocabulary and increasing their attention span.

At the Aquadene community library children from the nearby pre-schools and primary schools participated in the day’s activities, where librarians provided an opportunity for children to read and also read aloud to them.

The countrywide project’s target was to reach two million children and the story was also read live on air on ICORA FM by King Cetshwayo district literacy mentor, Sifisesihle Mdunge.
