How to get celebs to attend your wedding

New reality show will feature media personalities who will visit South African weddings.

M-Net has commissioned an exciting new wedding reality show which will be screened on Sunday evenings to showcase uniquely South African weddings.

Even though the name of the show and further details will be revealed at a later stage, engaged couples (over 18, of course) whose wedding bells will ring between 1 January and 31 May 2017 can now put their names forward to be considered for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

“In addition to The Voice South Africa, this new reality series will be one of the channel’s big attractions for the new year on the local productions front,” says M-Net’s Head of Publicity, Lani Lombard.

“Wedding shows are currently extremely popular throughout the world and even though there are some local versions, this one will have a distinct M-Net 101 touch, as you would expect from the home of blockbuster, pioneering television.”

While many wedding shows focus on the build-up to the execution of the wedding, the M-Net 101 edition will bring a panel of well-known personalities to the event to be part of the celebrations.

They will also assess all the elements of the wedding – from the flowers to the dress, the best man’s speech, the first dance, the venue, the love in the air, and whatever it takes to create the most beautiful, unforgettable occasion. If they like what they see and experience, the couple might not only walk down the aisle, but later be rewarded with some fantastic prizes.

If you think that your wedding will have all of the ingredients to wow the special guests, all you have to do to enter is visit www.mnet.tv/weddingshow and fill out the entry form there.

This new local M-Net series will be spearheaded by esteemed director and executive producer Gavin Wratten and Sic Entertainment, the team who has been behind top-notch productions such as Idols South AfricaFace of Africa and many of the Miss South Africa broadcasts.

According to Gavin, the show is designed to be an entertaining look at weddings and the different interpretations that couples have of key elements making up their big day.

“We are planning a series that is humorous, sometimes cheeky, often unpredictable but always highly watchable. We are looking for creative brides and grooms who want to show off their style, possibly win some prizes and get some expert opinions on their arrangements. So no more will these newlyweds have to rely on the opinions of friends and family as to whether their nuptials made memorable memories or missed the mark altogether!”
