SAPS hits the bull in the eyes

Police officers from all over the country gathered to decide the champions of the dartboards.

Witbank SAPS hosted the weeklong national darts championship with SAPS darts players from all over the country competing from July 21. The event was held at Olifants River Lodge. The finals were held on Friday 25 followed by the prize giving with the Western Cape team claiming most of the awards.

In the Ladies Doubles final Mpumalanga faced off against the Eastern Cape in a best out of seven matches. After three games each Mpumalanga team took the seventh game and the title.

Col S. Malan and W/O PJ Bester played very well to win the gold. Col Malan was chosen for the national ladies team as well.
In the men’s doubles final the Western Cape faced off against the Free State. The Eastern Cape team took the title with a final score of four matches to two.

The Ladies Singles final was also won by a Western Cape player and the Men’s Singles final was won by the stand out player of the week from Western Cape.

Well done to all the participants. “This office would like to congratulate each participant and official for the outstanding results, commitment and dedication to ensure Mpumalanga successfully hosted this event,” said Major General MT Hadebe, provincial deputy commissioner.
