Every year, the South African National Parks (SANParks) announces one week where visitors can enter most of its parks for free.
This year, the 16th South African National Parks Week takes place from 22 to 28 November.
Acting SANParks CEO Luthando Dziba says the only park that will not be free is the Boulders section of Table Mountain National Park.
Accommodation and tourist activities are also not free.

Since national parks week first started in 2006, almost 592,000 people have taken advantage, entering most national parks for free.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Dziba says this has limited the amount of guests able to enjoy free access to the parks.
Gate quotas and extra visitor-management procedures will have to be in place to manage visitor volumes.
“It is important for South Africans to visit and know the importance of national parks.
“There is a growing need for national parks to be relevant, particularly to young people and communities living adjacent to parks,” Dziba said.
Free access into Kruger National Park, Addo Elephant Park, Augrabies Falls National Park and the Tsitsikamma section of the Garden Route National Park will be valid from 22 to 26 November.
