Call Me Maybe singer Carly Rae Jepson coming to SA

Hilltop Live Africa and Universal Music South Africa, in partnership with 947 and MTV announced two dates for the Grammy Award-nominated multi-platinum-selling Canadian recording artist.

Carly Rae Jepsen’s new album, E-MO-TION, is the follow-up to Jepsen’s debut album Kiss, which featured her break-out hit Call Me MaybeCall Me Maybe climbed to No 1 on the iTunes Singles charts in over 47 countries and has sold over 17 million singles worldwide to date. It earned Jepsen Grammy nods for Best Pop Solo Performance and Song of the Year. Kiss also spawned the follow-up hit Good Time, a duet with Owl City, which has been certified double-platinum.

Jepsen spent much of 2014 starring in the Broadway production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, earning rave reviews. The first single released from E-MO-TION, I Really Like You, became a global Top 40 hit. The video for I Really Like You, which co-stars Tom Hanks, has racked up more than 85 million Vevo views.

Carly Rae Jepsen’s new album E.MO.TION will be released to South African stores on 21 August. Her new single Run Away with Me is currently playlisted on radio stations.

Her SA tour forms part of her promoting her latest album E.MO.TION in South Africa. She will perform at Grand Arena, GrandWest, Cape Town on October 21 and the Monument Amphitheatre, Pretoria, on October 24.

The damage for Golden Circle tickets for the Cape Town show is R550. General standing tickets will set you back R500 and mezzanine seating spots are available for R450. All tickets for the Pretoria show are going for R375.
