The theme, “Be yourself” caters for the vast geographical spread of more than 70 exhibitors from around the country where conditions range from arid to tropical.

There will also be specialised exhibits of orchids, roses, floral decor, bonsai and others.

To complement the many displays there is a strong focus on schools. More than 50 mini gardens, designed and constructed by chldren as young as nine years old are on show.

One of the many highlights is the Hall of Orchids which features an international array of exhibitors. This is a must-see for anyone interested in what is sometimes referred to as the “perfect blossom”.

The 900m2 Happy Earth Hall forms an integral part of the show with the emphasis being on sustainability.

Aside from horticulture there will be a floral icing cake expo (the largest display of its kind in the country), ongoing cooking demonstrations by the 1 000 Hills Chefs School and an outdoor expo focused on leisure activities.

This year will also see the introduction of a “Kidz Zone” where entertainment will be provided for younger children.

The show is open from 9am to 5pm each day.

Charges at the gate are R50 per adult and R35 for children under 12 and pensioners.
