Regional title chasing will be the name of the game at the Zwartkops Raceway near Pretoria this Saturday during the penultimate round of the 2018 EV Dynamics Inland Championship.
Heading up a full programme are two races for the Bridgestone BMW Car Club Series, with 24 contenders facing the starter. Fighting for overall victories on the day should be drivers like David Coetzee (ELKSA BMWE36 Turbo), Lorenzo Gualtieri (Papa Marios BMW E36), Rick Loureiro (Combined BMW 335i), Paulo Loureiro (Combined BMW E36 GTS), Jan Evertsteyn (Bavaria BMW E46 M3) and Oz Biagioni (Bic Pools BMW M3).
The Motul Modified Production Car races should see Keegan Pottas (EV Dynamics Honda CRX) as the man to beat, with his closest adversaries Shane Kroon (EV Dynamics Golf Turbo), Dirk Lawrence (Vaal Timbers Honda Ballade), Roan Ehlers (FEC Golf Turbo), Paul van Niekerk (EV Dynamics Golf), Bjorn Gebert (FAS Alfa GTV6), Ebrahim Peck (Geardown Golf and Ishmael Peck (JDM Tuning Honda Civic).
Brett Garland (autObarn Honda Civic) should be the autObarn SuperHatch favourite, chased by the likes of Jonathan du Toit (TAR Honda Civic), André Dannhauser (Pro Auto Opel Corsa), Nic Martin (Rex Diff Opel Kadett), Shaun Smith (Pta Noord Toyota RunX), Tyler Scott (Jestik Opel Kadett) and Floris Stopforth (VW Polo).
The Midvaal Historic brigade will field 18 cars, led by drivers like Bjorn Gebert (FAS Alfa GTV6), Mario Rossi (FAS Alfa GTV6), Jannie van Rooyen (VW Scirocco), Ken Price (SV Tech Datsun Coupe GX), Travis Jensen (Jensen Towing Datsun 1200 GX), Jose de Carvalho (Power Mods (Alfa 155) and Andries Draper (Auto Classic Ford Escort).
Topping the Formula Monoposto single-seater list will be John Maurien (Lifestyle Galaxy Ray), Carel van Heerden (McCarthy VW Swift), Gerard Geldenhuys (Formula 1600), Mac Odendaal (GRS Auto DAW) and Koos Posthumus (KMZM Formula M).
The LiquiMoly Inex Legend races could provide some of the day’s closest competition, with victory favourites Sean Moore, Willie Erasmus, Jason Loosemore, Justin Robertson, Richard Upton, Gerhard, Charl Roux, and Johan van der Venter.
Mark Lauth (Fantastic Shelby CanAm), James Forbes (Nash ADR), Paul Sullivan (SBR Nash), Ian Smith (Shelby CanAm) and Anton Miller (Birkin 7) should all be front runners in the National Sports Car races.
The Silvercup races should see Evert Seyffert (Cable Solutions Chev Firenza), Freek Blignaut (Mitspro Mazda 323), Freek Blignaut Senior (Mazda MPS) and Daniel Luwes (Skipgo Honda Ballade) fighting for podium places.
