WATCH: Roger Federer discovers his Scottish roots!

By now, most South African tennis fans know that Roger Federer has diverse roots.

After all, the Swiss tennis legend’s mother, Lynette, grew up in Johannesburg before meeting her future husband Robert in Basel.

So, every now and then, we claim him as one of our own.

But earlier this week, Federer also “discovered” his Scottish roots!

Playing in a charity event against Andy Murray in Glasgow, the 36-year-old put on a traditional kilt for one game.

In turn, Murray – who hasn’t played competitively since Wimbledon in July – wore a Tam O’Shanter or “see you Jimmy” hat.

It was all very much fun.

Federer, by the way, won  6-3 3-6 10-6.
