Talk about a reality check!
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, the Liverpool playmaker signed from Arsenal during the transfer window, saw an undercover prank backfire quite badly.
The 24-year-old winger, as part of a hidden camera show by one of the club’s commercial partners, was asked to dress up like a local builder.
He was then sent into Anfield’s club shop, where former Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler gave him tasks to do via an earpiece.
One of Oxlade-Chamberlain’s “missions” was to sell his own shirt to a young fan.
“Excuse me son. Do you want to buy this,” was his question to the teenaged boy.
Let’s just say the reply was very humbling…
