US golfer Jerry Kelly experienced his own “Happy Gilmore moment” at last weekend’s PGA Champions’ Championship in Hawaii.
Anyone who actually watched the Adam Sandler cult classic would remember that the titular character, Happy, would ride his luck to eventually defeat arch-nemesis Shooter McGavin.
Kelly did pretty much the same.
Playing his second shot on the par 5 seventh, the 52-year-old sliced his approach badly and the ball seemed headed for the course’s lava rocks.
Are you kidding me?!
Possibly the wildest eagle you'll ever see from @JerryKelly13PGA @MEC_golf. 🦅🤯 pic.twitter.com/XFwpXQ48xi

Kelly even cursed a bit in frustration.
However, the ball somehow bounced twice off the rocks, onto the golf cart path and then the green.
It allowed him to sink the putt for an Eagle.
Crazy good luck!
