URC as it happened: Stormers 33-21 Bulls

The Stormers beat the Bulls for the sixth time in the competition to book their spot in the URC semis. Here's how it happened.

The North/South derby reaches its climax this season as the Bulls take on the Stormers in the quarterfinals of the United Rugby Championship (URC) at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 3:30pm).

Last year the two teams clashed in an epic inaugural final of the competition, with the Stormers emerging as champions after a thrilling 18-13 win, and they will once again be battling it out on the biggest stage, albeit a bit earlier this time round.

Bulls v Stormers – as it happened

Both teams enter the match on the back of impressive victories in their final URC pool games. The Bulls dominated a second-string Leinster, thrashing them 62-7, while the Stormers bounced back from their first home defeat in over a year with a convincing 38-22 win over Benetton.

Recently, Western Province, without their URC stars, comfortably defeated a Bulls team that included several of their URC stars in the recent Currie Cup. It remains to be seen if this match will have any impact on the upcoming quarterfinal clash. Stay tuned to find out!
