Super Series competitors head for Cape

Topping the programme will be races for the Bridgestone Production Cars which are scheduled to tackle two heats and a final during the day. Defending champion Michael Stephen (Engen Xtreme Audi S4) enjoys a comfortable Class A points lead and, with a little luck, he could clinch the championship this weekend.

His closest title rivals are Etienne van der Linde and Johan Fourie in their Afrox Pirtek BMW 335i entries. The BMWs should have the legs to beat the rest down Killarney’s two long straights, while the all-wheel-drive Audis should be more nimble around the circuit’s tight and twisty infield.

Lining up to prove Audi’s point will be Gennaro Bonafede (Ferodo Audi S4), Tschops Sipuka (Engen Xtreme Audi S4) and Melville Priest (Meuller Sports Audi S4). They could all be surprised by Hennie Groenewald, in the lone Sasol Subaru ST.

Graeme Nathan (IndyOil Golf GTI) leads the Class T contingent with his closest rival Gavin Cronje (Castrol MINI Cooper S). Fighting for the third and fourth will be Jacques Joubert (IndyOil Golf GTI) and Gary Formato (Castrol Ford Focus ST). Also in the mix will be Lee Thompson (Castrol MINI), Devin Robertson (Liqui Moly Renault Megane), Michael van Rooyen (Williams Hunt Chev Cruze), Shaun Duminy (Castrol Ford Focus ST) and Ryan Cooper (Golf GTI).

1 Local star Kosie Weyers (Engen Polo) will expect to clinch this year’s Engen Polo Cup on his home circuit.

He enjoys a substantial points lead over Mathew Hodges (IRT Dickson Polo), Dewald Brummer (MAD Polo), Mark Silverwood (OKI Printing Polo), Trevor Bland (Alpine Motors Polo) and Jeffrey Kruger (IndyOil Polo).

Heading up the midfield should be drivers like Tasmin Pepper (PG Glass Polo), Shaun la Reservee(Alpine Motors Polo), Bryan Morgan (Great Soft Polo) and Simon Moss (Tsogo Sun Polo).
