WATCH: Former No 1 Pliskova loses it, smashes umpire’s chair

The Czech was not chuffed with poor decision against her that arguably cost her her third round match in the Italian Open.

Karolina Pliskova, one of the leading players on the WTA Tour, is likely to receive a substantial after she damaged an umpire’s chair in a fit of rage in the third round of the Italian Open.

The Czech was left furious after an overhead smash was called out by the official at a crucial stage of her match against Greece’s Maria Sakkari.

Pliskova was served at 30-all with the final set deadlocked at 5-5 and went on to lose the match very much based on that decision.

It was a poor one admittedly.

Afterwards, she briefly congratulated her opponent before withdrawing her outstretched hand to the umpire and smashing the chair.

Pretty aggressive stuff!
