Naturally, social media has also poked fun at the ongoing drama with a collection of memes.
As the fallout from the Australians’ ball-tampering scandal continues unabated, people on social media have predictably been engaging in some schadenfreude.
One particularly funny video has emerged of a guy totally overplaying Cameron Bancroft’s attempt to change the condition of the ball by using yellow sticky tape during the Newlands Test.
The guy, in his own cricket club’s colours, fiddles in his trousers first before catching the ball.
He then proceeds to pick up an belt sander and roughs up the ball before putting the machine in his trousers!
To be fair to Bancroft though, he never admitted to using sandpaper as was initially speculated.
Of course, there’s also been a collection of memes that have poked fun at the Aussies…
