Mamelodi Sundowns were crowned 2018/19 Absa Premiership champions after beating Free State Stars 1-0 away in Bethlehem on Saturday afternoon. The loss also meant that Ea Lla Koto were relegated to the National First Division after finishing in 16th position.
Orlando Pirates finished second despite their convincing 3-0 win over Polokwane City, while Kaizer Chiefs finished outside of the top eight after losing 1-0 to Chippa United in Port Elizabeth.
A 1-1 draw against Baroka FC meant that Maritzburg United will play in the Promotion playoffs to save their Premiership status.
