The all-Premier League showdown will be the first European match Spurs have played at their new stadium and they will be looking to maintain their 100% record at the venue after beating Crystal Palace 2-0 last time out.
That victory was just Spurs’ second in seven games across all competitions and the Champions League is now the only chance Mauricio Pochettino’s side have of winning some silverware this season.
It is only the second time Spurs have made it through to the last eight of Europe’s premier club competition, following on from their 5-0 aggregate defeat to Real Madrid in 2011, while it will also be the first time they have met English opposition in a European match since they lost to Liverpool in the UEFA Cup back in 1973.
Spurs have no fresh injury concerns heading into the match and Fernando Llorente could feature after recovering from a concussion, although Eric Dier and Erik Lamela remain sidelined and Serge Aurier is unlikely to recover in time from a hamstring problem.
City will head into the match still dreaming of the quadruple after they reached the FA Cup final by beating Brighton 1-0 at Wembley on Saturday.
