Out-of-form Schalke now travel to Manchester as they search for a comeback of their own this Tuesday night.

Schalke’s problems are beyond what many would call a crisis. The team is currently 14th in the Bundesliga and are just four points away from the relegation play-off place. Recently, a cappo of the clubs ultras came down onto the pitch and stripped Ralf Fahrmann of the captains’ armband which he was awarded in pre-season.

The German giants have also sacked their sporting executive and replaced him with Clemens Tonnies. The new man in charge is a fan of manager Domenico Tedesco but even he admitted that results must improve.

Their last result, a 4-2 loss to Werder Bremen, was considered a big improvement following earlier defeats to Dusseldorf and Mainz in which the Royal Blues conceded seven goals and scored none.

Man City, on the other hand, are in flying form. Pep Guardiola’s men have won nine consecutive games since their shock defeat to Newcastle last January. In their most recent outing, Raheem Sterling grabbed a hat-trick as the Citizens claimed a 3-1 win over Watford.
