Spurs secured a narrow lead in the first game when Son Heung-min scored the only goal at their brand new state-of-the-art stadium so City have plenty to do to progress into the semi-finals.

However, Pep Guardiola’s star-studded squad, who are still chasing the quadruple, will be expected to recover in what should be another tight all-English showdown.

This is the second of three games between the two sides as they also meet at the Etihad in a huge league game on Saturday, but the focus for now is on Europe as both teams look to make it into the semis.

Despite all their riches, City have only made the Champions League last four once, back in 2016, while Tottenham have never progressed past the quarter-finals. Mauricio Pochettino knows seeing off City will be a huge challenge but, if they manage to pull it off, it will be hailed as a major achievement, with Juventus or Ajax waiting.
