Anfield will be the venue for the first leg of the quarter-final tie and the Reds will head into the contest on a 14-match unbeaten run across all competitions, while Friday’s 3-1 victory at Southampton saw them return to the top of the Premier League standings.
Porto are also in the midst of a title battle, as they are currently level on points with Benfica at the top of the Primeira Liga standings, while they have won six of their last seven matches in the Champions League.
The two teams met at the last 16 stage of the competition last term with Liverpool prevailing as comfortable 5-0 winners on aggregate, although Porto did get a credible draw during the second-leg at Anfield.
Liverpool have actually never lost to Porto in a European match, winning three of their six previous meetings.
