With the Champions League final taking place at Atletico’s home ground, the Wanda Metropolitano, Diego Simeone’s side are clearly desperate to go all the way in this year’s competition.

Atletico put themselves in pole position to progress into the quarter-finals when goals from Jose Gimenez and Diego Godin sealed a comprehensive 2-0 victory over the Old Lady.

What’s more, Los Colchoneros are in sensational recent form, winning all five of their previous games in all competitions. During this time the Madrid outfit scored eight goals and conceded none.

Since their first leg defeat to Atletico, Juventus seem to have recovered well winning all three of their following Serie A fixtures. One of those wins included a 2-1 victory over closest title rivals Napoli who are now 18 points behind the Black and Whites in the table.

Last time these two giants faced off in the Champions League it was in the 2014 group stages. Back then, Atletico won the home game and went on to pick up a point away in Turin.

With the home side desperate for goals and Atletico ready to hit them with counter attacks, the draw is probably the most realistic scenario this time round too.
