The 27-year-old striker was linked with several PSL clubs after he was released by Rennes in February this year.
Erasmus, however, has opted to remain in Europe by signing a two-year contract with Eskilstuna.
“I hope to win the love of fans through my goals. It was a difficult decision to make, but there is a good opportunity for me to play again,” Erasmus told the Eskilstuna website after signing the contract.
“I have not played football for a few months so I have a lot of desire. I just want to be happy to do something that I like,” added Erasmus.
SuperSport were said to be interested in the striker, with one club official describing him to Phakaaathi as their player, as he was groomed in the club’s academy.
But Matsatsantsa will have to wait a little longer to re-sign the player that they sold to Orlando Pirates in 2013.
