Jordaan recalls when the players got off the bus and were making their way to the change room when coach Jomo Sono stopped them.
“We were told by Jomo not to go into the change room. We followed him into the parking area. On the day he didn’t travel on the bus with us bus drove his car to the stadium. When we got to the parking area we lined up close to his car and he told us to change,” Jordaan told Phakaaathi.
“He opened the door, got into the car close the door and then opened the windows and played ‘your love is my love’ by Whitney Houston. He was looking at us through the windscreen and singing alone to the song.
“Nhleko and I were looking at him and asking each other what was going on. Jomo was feeling the song and he was jamming in the car and we didn’t understand what was going on. To this day when I hear that song from Whitney I think of Jomo.”
Ezenkosi went on to win the game against Usuthu.
