The clash between against Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns attracted many football fans, including Kaizer Chiefs supporters and Downs coach Pitso Mosimane claims that his side was up against the whole country at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday.
The Amakhosi fans had reason to rally behind the Buccaneers – as the 1-0 win for the Buccaneers gave Chiefs a nine-point gap at the top of the log standings between them second-placed Sundowns.

“It’s not easy to find collusion there, I saw the whole Soweto (Wednesday night) black and white and gold and black together. Then I know that Mamelodi Sundowns have become a problem in this country. We played against the country tonight and it is okay,” said Mosimane.
“It sends a statement and then you can go on and look at the club rankings, then you can also go look at the coach’s world rankings. I am at peace.”
As it stands in the league standings, Chiefs are on the summit of the log with 41 points, while Downs are second on 32 points. Pirates jumped to fifth place with the win over Sundowns and they are currently on 27 points from 17 matches.
