Sundowns’ Mabunda told to ‘wake up’ following messages of support to Bushiri
A follower suggested that Sundowns bench him because he was apparently 'distracted'.

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Tiyani Mabunda found himself on the wrong side of some of his supporters on social media after making several posts in support of Sheperd Bushiri and his wife, Mary, following their arrest. The couple was arrested on Friday on charges of fraud and money-laundering and appeared at the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crime Court today. The case was postponed to Wednesday.
Mabunda, who previously made it clear whose “son” he was, took to social media to share bible scriptures in support of the couple, leaving his followers unimpressed.
He wrote: “Blessed are you when people make fun of you and hurt you because of me. You are also blessed when they tell all kinds of evil lies about you because of me. Be joyful and glad. Your reward in heaven is great. In the same way, they hurt the prophets of long ago.”
But his followers accused him of not understanding the severity of the charges against Major 1 and his wife.
“I wish I could stay [neutral] as much as I can in this matter Sugar, more since I have a soft spot for you and your personality but I can’t. Your prophet is a scammer not only by stealing from the poorest but also for brainwashing all of you not to see the real him,” said @zamagembe, while @Mbali_Mod said: “Chief, do you understand what a serious crime money-laundering is? Please as a respectable guy respect the law hle.”
Another suggested that the team put him on the bench for some time because he was apparently “still distracted. We want to win the league thina”.
@Masandawana must not play you, you're still distracted. We want to win league thina.

The couple has been receiving messages of support from his “children”, Andile Mngxitama’s Black First Land First and Paseka “Mboro” Motsoeneng, who all showed up at the Specialised Commercial Crime Court today to show support.
Taking to its Facebook page, the church urged its followers to remain “calm”, as “our parents” were in “great health and also still in high spirit”.
