Shai opens about his Sundowns departure  

Siyabulela Shai has opened up about leaving Mamelodi Sundowns after struggling to get game time at a club his father Isaac Shai made a name for himself.


The 26-year old midfielder who is now a free agent also states that his departure at the Pretoria-based side was due to some issues with the club. However, his family including his father have been supportive of him and believe in his talent.

“I was frustrated that I wasn’t playing and I just decided that I should step down and it happened I had a couple of issues with the club,” said the midfielder.

“My family keeps me motivated, they believe in me so much and since their belief, they always support me. And there are also people out there who are supporting me besides my family who are always asking about my career and telling me that I am talented.”

Shai also had a spell at Maritzburg United, where he was sent on loan by Sundowns.
