PSL postpones GladAfrica Championship fixtures to assist SA U23

'The member clubs mainly affected by the postponement are University of Pretoria, Richards Bay and Ajax Cape Town,' reads a PSL statement.


The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has postponed a number of GladAfrica Championship fixtures in order to assist the South Africa U23 team that is travelling to Egypt to participate in an Olympic qualification tournament.

“The member clubs mainly affected by the postponement are University of Pretoria, Richards Bay and Ajax Cape Town,” read a PSL statement.

“The league has decided to postpone the fixtures to give the team the best possible chance to qualify for the Olympics.

“The players will be released after this weekend’s fixtures.

“The league will release full details in due course,” concluded the PSL statement.
