Mngwengwe passed on in the early hours of Monday morning.
In a statement, Arrows boss Mato Madlala said she was saddened by Mngwengwe’s passing.
“I am saddened by the passing away of Nkanyiso Mngwengwe,” said Madlala.
“I remember when he first arrived at Arrows as a promising footballer, full of energy. He was always ready to fight for the team and acquitted himself well over the years.
“I would like to extend my sincere condolences to Nkanyiso’s family. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult moment,” added Madlala.
Premiership clubs took to social media to pay tribute to the 30-year-old, who made his debut for Arrows in 2013.
