Pitso plotting to break Wydad hoodoo in fifth attempt

Mosimane says he simply cannot crack the winning formula but his undying attitude and will to win will see “Jingles” have another go at Wydad for the fifth time away hoping this time that they will not return with a loss, as it has been the case since 2017.

“It is a big one for me, I think that one is like winning the top eight, I just cannot crack it. It is tough there, we have not won there and we haven’t drawn, we lose but we score goals. We needed a goal last year at home to eliminate the (from the semifinals),” said Mosimane ahead of the side’s fifth meeting in this calendar year as they will lock horns on Saturday night in match-day two of the group stage round.

“We will try again because it means we have not tried hard enough, you need more. If we says we have put more, that means we need more than that. Maybe this is the time [to beat them]. This will be the ninth time that we meet them… they are stubborn. We don’t struggle with them in Pretoria,” he said.

“Jingles” added: “They know how to play the Champions League, they have the experience. I saw 45 minutes of their game away to USM Alger and USM scored early but I knew Wydad would score.”
