Pirates haunted by last season’s failures
Orlando Pirates coach Micho Sredojovic says the ghost of last season still haunts his players, but he is proud to say that he has seen signs of improvement from his charges.

Sredojovic joined Bucs with the team having undergone a dreadful two seasons, particularly last campaign which saw the Soweto giants fail to finish inside the top-eight in the Absa Premiership table.
“They are really determined, they want to turn the corner, they work really hard and they want to prove a point that they are not here at Pirates by accident. So this is my personal evaluation of what I have seen. And I feel honoured and privileged to be their coach,” said the Bucs mentor.
Pirates have shown signs of improvement under Sredojovic in their last three games. The Serbian born coach has managed to collect seven points in three games in charge of Bucs.

The Buccaneers coach was content with the club’s latest results after recording a 1-0 win over Ajax Cape Town at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday night and believes they can get better with time.
“Unfortunately we couldn’t score more, but we are picking up the pieces. We won the match and we are looking forward to improving because it has been the international break. When you come back we have 11 days with four matches and if you are winning, it could be an injection of motivation for players to continue picking up points to put Orlando Pirates where they belong,” the former Ugandan coach added.
“There is no better way of gaining confidence and lifting the quality of performance than by getting positive results. It becomes a habit and you enter every match with a winning mood.”
Next in line for Pirates is Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Friday night.
The Team of Choice are also on seven points after two wins and a draw in their first three league games.
