Pirates chase Sundowns target Kapinga

Lesedi Kapinga will be playing for one of the big teams in the PSL next season with Orlando Pirates reportedly trying to hijack Mamelodi Sundowns’ deal.

Sundowns were said to be leading the race to sign the Black Leopards playmaker but SunSport learned that the Soweto giants and Cape Town City have entered the race for the midfield dynamo’s signature.

Kapinga’s agent Mushe Modau confirmed they were talking to a few PSL clubs but didn’t reveal any names stating the player is committed to Lidoda Duvha until the end of the season.

The midfielder is not short of suitors, as SuperSport United and Bidvest Wits are said to be lining up to offer him a contract.

“All I can say for now that Kapinga’s contract with Leopards is coming to an end and we have been engaging with other PSL teams including Leopards for a new contract,” Modau was quoted as saying.

“Truth is, many teams want Kapinga and we will engage with them when the season is over and after the coronavirus pandemic crisis that has stopped the league has been contained. I cannot reveal the names of the team that have contacted us.”
