The Absa Premiership is blessed with a lot of talent, particularly in midfield, a position considered to be an engine of the team to make IT tick during a match.
And there have been a lot of midfield battles this season from all the teams.
With that in mind, Baroka FC midfielder Gerald Phiri is one of the finest midfielders in the PSL.
Looking at all the battles Phiri has been involved in, the Bakgaga player considers Orlando Pirates midfielder Linda Mtambo the one player who gave him the toughest tough time when they faced off, and he says the Bucs star bullied him during their last encounter.
“I think the last time we played Pirates, Mtambo gave me a tough time. Going into that game it was going to be the first time I played against him and I didn’t no what to expect,” said Phiri.
“I feel like he bullied me a lot and yeah, he really gave me a tough time. I always try to find people’s weaknesses in a game but I didn’t know what to expect from him during that game.”
During that game played last year in December, Baroka and Bucs played to a 2-2 draw at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
