Mosimane takes a leaf from Komphela’s book after Polokwane loss

Mosimane admits they were inferior to Polokwane City on Tuesday night at Loftus Versfeld.

A brace from former Sundowns striker Rodney Ramagelela secured the win for Rise and Shine in their away match against the African Champions.

George Lebese scored his first goal for the Brazilians from the penalty spot to level the score before Ramagalela struck a looping volley over Dennis Onyango.

“You get punished, you have to take your chances,” the coach told SuperSport TV. “But we need to congratulate Polokwane City and the coach [Bernard Molekwa], they did very well.

“They fought for it, they played well on the break, I think Rama had the game of his life, but it’s always the case with our former players, they show that you shouldn’t have let me go. What a fantastic strike he scored, the second one, I don’t think he’ll score [a goal like that] again.”

Mosimane believes the playing surface worked against his team playing their best football, much like Steve Komphela did when his side played to a 1-1 draw with Bloemfontein Celtic in their first game of the league.

“We did our best, but the pitch didn’t help us. I know, I sound like Steve Komphela after we don’t win because of the pitch, but it’s a fact, this pitch doesn’t help us,” said Mosimane.

“We are a free-flowing team, we need to push the ball around, we need the ball to move, but it’s our home game, and we can’t complain.”
