Orlando Pirates booked their spot in the final after overcoming Maritzburg United 2-1 at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg on Saturday night.
Earlier that day, Wits won its match against Kaizer Chiefs 4-2 on penalties after the match had ended 2-2 after extra-time.
PSL chief executive Brand de Villiers said the decision to host the final in Durban was a difficult one for the League.
“Firstly, I would like to congratulate both Wits and Orlando Pirates for reaching the 2013/14 Nedbank Cup final,” De Villiers said.
“A number of venues were on the table to host the Cup final and, following long deliberations and consultation with all the relevant stakeholders, we decided on Moses Mabhida.
“We are planning a spectacular event on May 17 and we urge football fans to purchase their tickets early.”
Tickets are available at Computicket and Shoprite Checkers.
