Pirates beat Stellenbosch FC 1-0 in the Telkom Knockout first round last weekend. However, Pirates made the victory difficult for themselves as they missed plenty of chances and head coach Rulani Mokwena insists that they will keep on working hard to get it right and he is proud of his charges.

“I will never throw my players under the bus, I am proud of the Buccaneers, I am proud of the Pirates players and we as Pirates are proud of our players. They are honest and do the best that they can. We will go back to practice more to keep on improving the team that’s what we are trying to do and that’s what we always focus on,” said the Pirates coach.
The Buccaneers face off with Stellies again at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday, but this time in a league match.
