Mokwena hints at Pirates exit

Orlando Pirates coach Rulani Mokwena has hinted that his future at the club is out of his hands following another defeat to Kaizer Chiefs in the Soweto derby this past weekend.

Amakhosi edged the Buccaneers 3-2 in a dramatic derby at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.

After blasting Amakhosi for what he termed “thuggish behaviour” during a post-match interview, Mokwena said he still had a long way to go in coaching either in South Africa or outside of the country.

“I am proud of the players. I still have a long way to go with coaching, I still have a lot to learn, I don’t know whether in South Africa or beyond the borders of this country,” said Mokwena.

“But one thing is for sure these Pirates players have an eternal big brother in me, they have endeared a bigger brother in me for life because of their spirit and attitude it is an honour to work with these players.”
