Wits want signed trio in January
Gavin Hunt says Bidvest Wits are trying to get Robyn Johannes, Thobani Mncwango and Denis Weidlich released from their contracts early so that they can join the Clever Boys in January.

The club announced this week that the trio had signed pre-contracts to join the club from July 1, but the Wits coach told Phakaaathi on Wednesday that the Clever Boys would like to sign them immediately.
Wits are clearly keen to reinforce their squad as much as possible as they aim to get away from the bottom of the Absa Premiership. Johannes is currently with Cape Town City, Weidlich is with Maritzburg United and Mncwango is at Polokwane City.
“We are trying to see what we can do with their clubs,” said Hunt, who added that new striker Lehlohonolo Majoro has been impressing in training.
“He has good movement and has done well at training this week,” said Hunt, whose side will host Free State Stars on Friday evening.
Hunt also confirmed that Wits have let former Bafana Bafana star Steven Pienaar go – the former Sunderland, Everton, Ajax Cape Town and Sunderland man failed to impress after signing for the Clever Boys at the start of this season.
“It is unfortunate. I wasn’t part of the agreement (to let him leave), but it is one of those things,” said the Wits coach.
