Shongwe, 27, still has a year left on his contract at Wits, but has fallen out-of-favour under Clever Boys coach Gavin Hunt, and is looking to move away from the Absa Premiership champions.
The midfielder has been the subject of speculation over a possible move to Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates but Wits say they have not received any firm offers for him.

“We gave him and his agent an undertaking at the end of last season that if a good opportunity came up for him, we would look at it,” said Ferreira on Tuesday.
“We have had some informal enquiries around Jabu, nothing of significance at this stage, but we would afford him the opportunity to go if a good deal came our way that was good for us and good for him.
“We have had a few offers, some didn’t interest us, others didn’t interest the player. We will see. There is a lot of time until August 31 and I am sure that by August 31 something will happen. If nothing happens, he will be incorporated into the (Wits) squad for the new season.”
