Wits not interested in signing Teko Modise

The Brazilians announced this week that they have released the 34 year-old from his contract, leaving him free to negotiate a deal with another top flight side.

Ferreira admitted that Wits had been approached by a representative of Modise but said: “We get telephone calls from agents all the time.

“Have I been approached about Modise, yes, I have been approached by agents for 200 or 300 different players. Teko Modise is a fantastic player, but do we need a player like Teko Modise at Wits? I think our midfield is one of the strongest in the country at the moment, so would it make sense to sign Teko Modise? I think the answer is clearly not.”
