Malawian striker Gabadinho Mhango scored the all-important goal four minutes after the break when he beat goalkeeper Maximilian Mbaeva.
The veteran-striker Lehlohonolo Majoro and Deon Hotto kept the pressure on Arrows throughout the first half, but could not find the back of the net. This combination created the first chance of the match in the fifth minute, but Arrows dealt with the danger quite easily.
Wits goalkeeper Darren Keet was called on in the 12th minute, but he had no problems in stopping the home side’s attack. Keet never had too much to do as Wits recorded a good victory on the road in the final match of the season.
Knox Mutizwa tried his best for Arrows, but poor finishing and good defending by the visitors kept him at bay.
