Wasteful strikers frustrate Hunt
Gavin Hunt was left frustrated vby his side’s inability to kill off teams, even though Bidvest Wits won 1-0 at home to Matirzburg United to move five points clear at the top of the Absa Premiership.

Lehlohonolo Majoro’s strike 10 minutes from time was enough to clinch the points, though he also missed a penalty minutes later and Wits could already have wrapped it up with better finishing in the first half.
“The three points are more important than anything else, (but) the longer the game went on the more they (United) could have had a chance. In the first or second minute we should have scored… then we had another chance and the longer the game went on the more they came at us,” Hunt told SuperSport TV after the match.
Eric Tinkler, who was only appointed United coach last week, could not immediately turn around the fortunes of the Premiership’s bottom side, who now have just 11 points from their first 19 league games.
“I thought we had moments in the first half, only moments though,” Tinkler told SuperSport TV. “You could still see there was a bit of nervousness… we didn’t have much possession in the first half and what we did have we gave away cheaply. In our shape defensively we were dropping slightly too deep… they were dominating us through the midfield.
“We tried to rectify that at half-time and I thought our second half performance was very good.”
