The footage is not of the highest quality, but it appears to feature Rulani Mokwena of Mamelodi Sundowns.
The incident is reported to have been triggered by the young boy uttering something offensive to the coach.
The exact nature of the exchange or how it started remains unclear. In the video, the coach pins the boy against a wall fence and appears to strangle him while conversing with him.
Although the content of their conversation is inaudible, the boy can be heard apologising and denying responsibility for the alleged insult.
The video is believed to have been captured by a student, and several others can be seen rushing to the scene to observe the altercation.
One student can be heard encouraging the coach to “beat him” with the tsotsi taal phrase “mnyathele tyma.”

Further contributing to the speculation that it’s Mokwena in the video is the presence of a Hyundai vehicle nearby, as Hyundai is a sponsor of Sundowns.
As of now, it remains unclear when this incident took place and whether any legal actions have been taken against Mokwena.
The situation has certainly raised questions and concerns, and further details may emerge in due course.
