Popular SABC sports analyst and anchor David Kekana has passed away at the age of 47.
According to the SABC, he was hospitalised at Milpark several weeks ago, but failed to recover, passing on during the afternoon of Sunday.
Kekana’s family confirmed in a statement on Monday morning that the veteran journalist passed away on Sunday after a long battle with diabetes.
He had worked at the SABC for 18 years, and was still in their employ during his illness.
Tributes and condolences have poured in for one of the country’s most familiar and friendly faces on TV. He was best known for his take on local football.
