This time it will be in the DStv Premiership after Rise and Shine got the better of Matsatsantsa a Pitori in the recent Carling Knockout match, handing them a 4-1 hiding.

City has since been knocked out of the cup competition by Stellenbosch FC while SuperSport have recovered from the defeat with back to back wins in the league over Royal AM  and TS Galaxy.

United will be looking for revenge on Wednesday night at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium against the unpredictable Limpopo side who are still licking their wounds after last Friday’s 2-0 defeat against Stellies.

City forward Oswin Appollis who was on target in the 4-1 win over United is hoping his team bounces back from the beer cup exit against his former team.

“In the first half against Stellenbosch we switched off and they got the goals,” the 22-year-old said.

“We tried to get back in the game but it was unfortunately not our day but we will focus on the next game on Wednesday. We are disappointed because we wanted to go far in the Carling Knockout competition but we will move on to the next one in the league.

“My time at City has been amazing because since my first week, the boys have welcomed me nicely so it’s good being here. I didn’t expect the move and I’m over it (SuperSport stint) and focused on Polokwane City at the moment.”

Hunt’s team will have to juggle between their domestic commitments and playing in the Caf Confederation Cup after the international break.

The experienced coach is hoping to have some of his star performers back from injury as the schedule intensifies.

“Tyson (Thulani Hlatshwayo) is back and has been magnificent, he’s a top centre back and I’m glad to have him back,” Hunt said.

“We have to get (Siphesihle) Ndlovu back, Kegan Johannes got through 90 minutes. He hasn’t played in six or seven games so it’s good to have him back. We are going to need all these players going forward. We have three away games on the trot now which are hard games so let’s see.”
