The striker has made two appearances for Galaxy already this season, but he is yet to score with the club having registered one loss and one draw. He says he believes things will change for better going forward.

“As strikers we have been working really hard for the team, we have been putting in extra (training), there are a few of us who have been coming earlier to work on finishing and stuff. It’s definitely something we need to improve on as players, especially strikers. Getting into the box and scoring those goals,” said the striker.

“But, it’s a collective effort, so for us to score goals we need to get the right supply, but we are fixing it as a team. It’s the start of the season and we will take it further from here. We will definitely improve, it’s an interesting season ahead, and for me at least, my goal is to score goals.”

Lekay, who has also played for SuperSport United reserves and Steenberg United in the lower division, will be looking to start finding the net when they host Golden Arrows at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday, where he says they are aiming at making it a difficult place to visit for teams.

“It is always nice going to Mbombela stadium, it is a beautiful stadium and from that we gain a lot of confidence. I mean, we made it to not lose any game at home. If we can go there and get the result, that’s an important part. Unfortunately there won’t be any fans, so, we can’t say we like to play in front of a home crowd, but hopefully it will happen soon. Nonetheless we are going there full of confidence and we are planning to win as many games as we can. That’s our fortress.”
