Thobejane’s Baroka fate to be decided today

Baroka FC CEO Morgan Mammila has confirmed that the club will make a final decision on suspended coach Kgoloko Thobejane today.

Thobejane, who is currently on suspension, was set to appear before the club disciplinary committee on Wednesday, but did not pitch up. And Mammila says Bakgaga are ready to make a final decision on the matter.

Thobejane was suspended after he allegedly drank alcohol with several players on the bus to Polokwane from the Free State in February.

“We sat [on Wednesday], but Mr Thobejane did not pitch for the sitting, but we continued with the sitting. So this matter is not finalised yet, but we’ll look at finalising it on Friday,” Mammila told the media.

“We’ll sit as management to see what the way forward is. Obviously, if the coach does not attend the invitation from the management, it’s something that we have to look at as the team. Surely, come Friday, we’ll have a conclusion on this matter,” added Mammila.

As Phakaaathi reported earlier, the process of finding a replacement for Thobejane has already started, with Highlands Park coach Owen Da Gama and Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach Manqoba Mngqithi mentioned as possible candidates.
