Thidiela’s one-year ban appeal hearing set for Friday
Black Leopards owner David Thidiela is set to appear before the PSL disciplinary committee in a bid to have his one-year ban from football activities overturned.

Thidiela was fined R1 million and banned from all football-related activities for one year after his tribal rant at referee Victor Hlungwani last year.
The Leopards boss was found guilty of bringing the League into disrepute for his verbal attack on Hlungwani after a Leopards and Bloemfontein Celtic match at Thohoyandou Stadium.
Thidiela’s lawyer, Advocate Eric Mabuza, says his client’s ban was an injustice and it will be overturned.
“We still maintain that Mr Thidiela’s ban was an injustice and we are of the view that the decision could be overturned by the hearing‚” Mabuza told SowetanLIVE. “It doesn’t sit well with us also that the whole process that led to his ban was carried out in absentia and that’s one of the things we will be putting on the table at the hearing.”
