There’s no SA team better than Sundowns, Pitso tells Zwane

Pitso Mosimane has urged Zwane to sign a new contract with Mamelodi Sundowns, insisting there is no local team worth joining from Sundowns.

The 28-year-old is among a host of players who are yet to sign a new contract with Sundowns. Mosimane is confident that Zwane will soon tie himself down and recommit his future with the former African champions.

“He [Zwane] knows he has to stay here, and he knows that we will look after him,” Mosimane said. “How do you recruit a player like Themba and Tiyani Mabunda? Do you say leave that team and go to another team?” Mosimane asked.

The former Bafana Bafana coach added his side played the best football in South Africa, suggesting it would be a downgrade to leave the Chloorkop-based side for any other local team.

“Where are they going to play football like this? And at Sundowns, is it a question of money? So where are they going? If Themba goes, where is he going to? If he is going overseas, then okay. The money maybe is not the same and the quality of football, but if he stays in South Africa, then why must he move? Where is he going?

“We love these boys, they have won the Champions League with us. Players are not stupid, they know that if the contract is finishing, they need to be looked at. Players go when they are unhappy. Which team has unhappy players but plays football like this?” Mosimane added.
