Tembo was responding to reports that Matsatsantsa A Pitori are fielding a weakened side in the Caf Confederation Cup while they rest their so-called ‘first team players’ for their fight for survival in the Absa Premiership.
“We treat our players equally,” insisted Tembo.
“When we went to Gor Mahia (Kenya) we played four youngsters. Ronwen Williams did not play, Clayton Daniels did not play. Reneilwe Letsholonyane did not travel. So we are also trying to rest some players and play others,” he added.
“But when others get an opportunity, they must know that we don’t select a team that is suppose to lose. We always try and select the best team because we trust the players that we have,” Tembo explained.
