There are no ‘issues’ with Molangoane – Komphela

Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has dismissed rumours that there are “issues” which have led to him not playing sensational midfielder Joseph 'Tight' Molangoane.

Phakaaathi reported earlier that Molangoane had been left out of the team because of a fall out with the team and that he could be released in January.

“There is no issue with Joseph,” Komphela said on Thursday.

“He was sick and then got out and Jayiya started playing… The pity is that I don’t respond to certain things and that is why sometimes as they go on it looks like they are true because I don’t rectify them myself. Otherwise you’d have to rectify everything that is flying out there. You’d end up losing focus of what you have to do. All that has been said is not true.

“There was a stage where he had flue, just after Itu had his chest problems. And then it was not easy to come back, but at least he has started training well now. He even missed sessions and was at some point sent home for two days.

“The players are my best partners in this business,” added Komphela who had earlier said Molangoane needs to fight for his place in the team.
