The PSL is deceiving – Pitso Mosimane
Pitso Mosimane believes that the Absa Premiership is not a true reflection of what is real in terms of South African football.

In recent weeks, the league experienced a plummet in the way of goal scoring. Mosimane says part of the reason behind the lack of goals is because teams play what he described as “withdrawal” football.
“If it goes on for two match days in succession and there are not enough goals, it brings the topic of saying there is not enough goals and it is justified at that time,” said Mosimane.
“But I see it totally different. I like what Cavin Johnson (AmaZulu coach) said. He said most of us as coaches play not to lose and we are conservative. Who wants to lose? I don’t want to lose also. And I understand that we don’t want to lose our jobs.
“But if you don’t attack how are you going to win. If your game is 70% defence and 30% attack, so you’ve got to score on 30%. And what if the other opposition are organized?”
In a long run, the former Bafana Bafana coach reckons that the poor return of goals in the Absa Premiership will be detrimental to the success of the national team.
“We need to play. It is not good for Bafana because we all play withdrawal football and it is easy,” said.
Asked on whether he foresees change in the second half of the season, he said: “It is going to be worse because we are all scrapping for points. It is draws all the way, hence if you win two games you find yourself in second position.
“We don’t want to play because we don’t want to lose but we have to try because we are Sundowns. I don’t want to talk about other teams but everyone plays the way they want, you cannot say people must play the way you want.”
